Soviet Russian Ww2 Era Steel Combat Helmet Hat Ssh40You are bidding on a ww2 era sssh40 soviet combat helmet. (other helmets in gallery photo are my collection and not for sale) id's as the wartime construction in robert clawson's book russian helmetfrom kaska to stalshlyem 1916-2001. It fits the wartime construction as opposed to later versions(there were two later versions post war of the model 40 until the introduction of the sssh60) with teh following characteristics as paraphrased rivet position, liner pad mount placement and construction. The rivet position is right out of the book (pg 67) about specifically wartime rivet location. Also, the helmet pad placement, is consistent with ww2 style and layoutlater ones had different pad arrangements/numbers and all appear to be original ww2 style and quality(meaning very inexpensive) some storage wear on pot and surface rust, only on surface, not all through, muliple layers of the heavy russian paint peeling as shown. What makes this pot worth posting is that it is a large size, a 2 or 3, and has no structural damage or heavy rust, and has all the prongs for the liner pad mounts as pictured, so it is a perfect candidate for restoration. It is perfect for a ww2 display, dummy, or re-enactment. It is ready to go for your ww2 impression, display, or re-enactment, or ww2 helmet collection.
